Job Description

The NAE Data Manager is a part-time position (12-15 hours a week). The Data Manager administers the NAE’s membership, donor and subscription data to empower the NAE to fulfill our mission to honor God by connecting and representing evangelical Christians in the United States.

  • Personal faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord
  • Agreement to and affirmation of the NAE Statement of Faith (available at
  • Member of the National Association of Evangelicals (can join once hired)
  • Regular attendance at an evangelical church and familiarity with the evangelical community
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft applications
  • Experience with database systems (eTapestry and Emma knowledge a plus but not required)
  • Attention to detail
  • Organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to work as part of a team and flexibility to adjust to needs of a small office
  • Capability and experience to fulfill responsibilities listed below


  • Edit/prepare membership renewal letters and emails
  • Enter dues and contribution payments made by check
  • Reconcile eTapestry transaction data to Quickbooks monthly and annually for the audit
  • Review each credit card charge for accurate account setup and UDF accuracy
  • Edit/prepare receipts and/or thank you letters for all transactions
  • Correspond with members to update records, prepare receipts, resend renewal letters, etc.
  • Maintain data (run queries to identify data entry errors and make corrections)
  • Maintain board of directors and executive committee lists; create board of directors and executive committeedirectories; distribute board correspondence
  • Prepare all reports related to membership and contributions
  • Create and maintain DIY transaction forms for board meetings, event registrations, contribution pages, etc.
  • Add/edit/maintain website shopping cart items in conjunction with communications staff
  • Create daily credit card transaction report for accountant
  • Provide oversight to ensure proper normalization of UDFs
  • Reconcile special funds to QuickBooks
  • Maintain user security groups
  • Prepare and maintain mailing lists for donor correspondence and magazine mailing
  • Send welcome emails to new members
  • Maintain Emma email exports
  • Support/provide staff training in eTapestry
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.


  • The Data Manager reports to the Chief Operating Officer
  • The Data Manager coordinates with other NAE staff

The NAE office is located in Washington, D.C., but remote work is permissible for this position.
