Since church-related schools exist to propagate religion, and assistance to any such institutions or to students in their relations to such institutions assists such institutions in their propagation of their religions tenets,

Because federal aid to church-related schools has been increasing steadily through a variety of channels, the National Association of Evangelicals, in the interest of preserving the right of citizens of the United States not to support the propagation of sectarian religion, voices its protest against any federal aid to church-related schools whether directly or indirectly given. Specifically, the National Association of Evangelicals opposes the “child benefit” theory of support for church-related schools as being an obvious circumvention of the separation of church and state.
