WHEREAS THE U.S. Embassy in Moscow recently turned away 32 Siberian Evangelicals who sought help, and

WHEREAS reports indicate that Christians in the Soviet Union are not free to exercise their religion in matters relating to Christian education and Christian witness,

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the National Association of Evangelicals requests that the Secretary of State of the United States review and reconsider the manner in which our Government should respond to requests for assistance by persons seeking freedom to establish a way of life according to the dictates of their conscience, and we further request that our Government employ all available means to determine the present status of the 32 Christians in Chernogrosk and to assure their safety.
