Several branches of the federal government have given generously of both personnel and facilities to make possible the annual seminars on “Christian Responsibility in Government,” conducted by the National Association of Evangelicals for pastors and laymen. Similar service has been rendered in connection with the program, “Opportunities in Government Service,” conducted by the National Association of Evangelicals for college students.

In particular, the Department of State, through its divisions of Passport, Visa, Authentication, Special Services and Public Liaison, has willingly assisted in handling the regular and emergency needs of the more than 14,000 American citizens who serve overseas as evangelical missionaries, related to the National Association of Evangelicals through one or more of its affiliates.

In view of the foregoing, the 26th and 27th Convention of the National Association of Evangelicals expresses to the directors of those government agencies involved, and especially to the Secretary of State and the key subordinates involved, sincere appreciation for this cooperation and for generous services rendered.
