WHEREAS religiously-oriented schools exist for the precise purpose of educating children in a sectarian position, and where tax funds are provided to assist the individual child directly or indirectly to this end, such aid constitutes assistance to the institution, and

WHEREAS bus transportation is considered a necessary part of most modern educational systems,

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT the National Association of Evangelicals strongly opposes the appropriation of tax funds in any amount to convey children to non-public schools providing religious instruction.
