The National Association of Evangelicals (NAE) has named Tom Correll to its new staff position of global church representative. As the global church representative, Correll will coordinate the NAE’s engagement with the worldwide church and the World Evangelical Alliance, as well as provide consultation to the NAE staff on international issues.

“While the majority of our work is focused on U.S. ministries, the National Association of Evangelicals cares deeply for God’s work around the world,” said Leith Anderson, NAE president. “The far too prevalent persecution of Christians in the world today reminds us that an NAE global church representative is much needed.”

Correll recently retired as missions pastor of Wooddale Church in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. He joined its staff in 1995 after many years of lay leadership. As a longtime leader in the missions community, Correll has served on the boards of the North American Council of the World Evangelical Alliance, Mission: Moving Mountains, Daystar USA and the National Association of Missions Pastors.

Correll said, “As the NAE global church representative, I’m excited about working collaboratively with evangelical leaders around the world to glorify God and see the nations of the earth forever transformed. Cross-cultural ministry is my passion.”

Anderson said, “Tom is the right person for the job. His knowledge of cultures and expansive connections around the world make him a valuable and needed asset to our team.”

Prior to joining the staff of Wooddale Church, Correll spent over 25 years in the computer industry including a three year executive assignment in South Africa. Correll received a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from the University of Michigan and Master of Divinity from Bethel Seminary in St. Paul, Minnesota.
