Recognizing the truth of God’s transforming Word, the National Association of Evangelicals affirms that, until Jesus’ sure return, our world will be plagued with increasing wars, earthquakes, famines and floods (Luke 21: 10-13).

Knowing there will be increasing needs around the world requiring church response; NAB celebrates and affirms the 50-year ministry of World Relief which was “birthed” by this association as our united ministry to care for the suffering in our world.

Since World War II, World Relief has utilized a unique church fellowship that spans the globe and can be mobilized in times of crisis.

During the darkest hours of suffering, we want people to see the love of Jesus. He offers the best hope for people in crisis. And through His church, wounds — physical and emotional — can be healed.

We recognize this network of hope — World Relief — is needed now more than ever. We pledge to support its mission by the following:

1. Recognizing and actively supporting the three-fold outreach mission of the church – evangelization, discipleship and acts of mercy, love and justice. As with evangelization and discipleship, we pledge to make compassionate outreach a priority in our use of time, energy and resources.

2. Renewing our own commitment to live every day as Good Samaritans in our world. We will not turn away from those in need.

3. Supporting World Relief’s efforts to expand its ability to respond more effectively in times of disaster through its 50th Anniversary challenge: “In the darkest hours, Let’s be there!”

We pray that God will continue to bless World Relief and our churches in the restoration of lives and in bringing people to a saving knowledge of Christ’s love and grace. May our united outreach bear witness to His glory.
