As first described in Genesis and later affirmed by Jesus, marriage is a God-ordained, covenant relationship between one man and one woman (Genesis 1:27–28, 2:23–25; Matthew 19:4–6). In a pluralistic society, we seek to embody biblical standards and be a voice for those standards, while we also recognize that people may choose other paths. We oppose unjust discrimination against anyone, including LGBTQ persons. We encourage churches and ministries to reach out to LGBTQ neighbors with love and the good news of Jesus Christ.
