The National Association of Evangelicals, which represents more than 45,000 local churches from 40 different denominations, announces the search for the next NAE president. In addition to denominations, NAE membership includes leading Christian nonprofits, schools, churches and individuals.

Leith Anderson, who has served as the organization’s president since 2006 after twice serving as interim president, plans to retire at the end of 2019. The NAE Board of Directors has been preparing for this transition for several years through a detailed presidential succession plan.

The NAE president is a key leadership position for the NAE and the larger evangelical community. The NAE Presidential Search Team, which is composed of NAE board members, will lead the initial selection of top candidates. The NAE Board of Directors plans to finalize the election of the new president later this year.
