Earlier this year, thousands gathered in Washington, D.C., for the 53rd annual March for Life, publicly affirming that life is a gift.” As evangelicals, we believe that this gift comes from the Creator and that our public policy agenda should reflect a deep commitment to caring for human life at every stage.

The National Association of Evangelicals team was grateful to participate in this year’s March for Life, and we continue working to promote a culture of life. Over the past year, our team has championed public policy priorities that seek the flourishing of all people, including the unborn, the elderly, the terminally ill, those living with disabilities, and the most vulnerable among us.

Supporting Families and Economic Security

Financial insecurity can place significant strain on individuals and families and can lead individuals to delay family formation or consider abortion. Recognizing this, we advocate for policies that strengthen economic stability and help families flourish.

These efforts include championing the expansion and protection of the Child Tax Credit (CTC), which provides critical financial support to growing families; building bipartisan support for paid family leave, so parents can spend essential time bonding with their newborns; and promoting bipartisan legislation that would update asset limits and remove marriage penalties for individuals receiving Supplemental Security Income (SSI).

Protecting Life in Health Care Policy

Affirming our conviction that life begins in the womb, the NAE welcomed congressional action last summer barring Medicaid reimbursements to entities that provide abortion services, and we continue to support the prohibition of government‑funded abortions in FY2027 appropriations, which are currently under consideration.

We also continue to engage with other thoughtful and courageous pro‑life partners and coalitions to advance policies protecting human life.

Defending Human Dignity at Home and Abroad

Globally, we have also been working to restore funding for HIV/AIDS programs that have saved over 26 million lives in the past 20 years and protected more than 5.5 million babies from being born HIV-positive.

At the same time, we are partnering with coalition allies to address emerging threats to human dignity in the digital age. In particular, we are supporting efforts to combat AI‑generated “deepfake” content and to strengthen online protections for women and children.

How You Can Help

  • Join us in prayer: Pray that the Lord would continue to raise up believers who love, care for, and advocate for vulnerable neighbors — from conception through the end of life. Pray also that God would guide state and national policymakers and elected officials to pass wise legislation that recognizes and promotes the sanctity of all human life.
  • Advocate on behalf of the vulnerable: Call on Congress to ensure artificial intelligence protections that ensure human agency and dignity in artificial intelligence development through our letter-writing campaign.
