Hello, my name is Sharon Ardon Morales, and I am your immigrant neighbor. My family’s immigration story began with my parents, who immigrated from Guatemala to California and eventually settled in Minnesota. I am a first-generation American because of their courage and determination to seek a better life and more opportunities for their children.
Like many immigrants, my parents embarked on this journey with hopes of building a better future. As Christians, I believe we are all called to make disciples, and that calling can manifest in many forms. For some, it may look like traditional missionary work or serving in local church ministries here in Minnesota. But it can also be lived out in everyday actions like social work, providing clothes to single mothers, feeding the homeless, mentoring youth, or working in the nursery at church.
For me, answering this call means serving others, whether it’s through pursuing justice, advocating for those who lack a voice, or simply loving people where they are.
