NAE President Leith Anderson sent his condolences to Ron Dermer, the Ambassador of Israel to the United States, for the tragic loss of life following the Nov. 18 massacre at the Har Nof synagogue in Jerusalem. The NAE continues to pray for comfort and healing, and for a lasting peace within and between Israel and all its neighbors.

The Honorable Ron Dermer
Ambassador of Israel to the United States
Embassy of Israel
3524 International Drive, NW
Washington, DC 20008

Dear Mr. Ambassador:

Please accept our deepest condolences as you and your nation grieve the tragic loss of life following the massacre at the Har Nof synagogue in Jerusalem. The murder of religious leaders and those worshipping in sacred spaces is profoundly disturbing to those of us who pray regularly for the peace of Jerusalem.

This shocking crime against humanity calls to mind the cry of the Prophet Jeremiah:

A voice is heard in Ramah,
mourning and great weeping,
Rachel weeping for her children
and refusing to be comforted,
because they are no more.

Please be assured of our continued prayers for comfort and healing for your people, and for a lasting peace within and between Israel and all its neighbors.

With deepest sympathy,

Leith Anderson
President
