The family is central to God’s vision for human beings and human society. As first described in Genesis and later affirmed by Jesus, marriage is a God-ordained, covenant relationship between one man and one woman (Genesis 1:27–28, 2:23–25; Matthew 19:4–6). In a pluralistic society, we seek to embody biblical standards, to be a voice for those standards, and to seek efforts that strengthen marriages, while also recognizing that people may choose contrary paths.
