Whereas, the U. S. Information Agency, and the Voice of America which is an integral part thereof, is engaged in heralding to the world the American heritage and the American system of individual freedom and responsibility, and

Whereas, our heritage of religious freedom with which the evangelical message has been so closely associated is an exceedingly important part of American life, and

Whereas, the Information Agency is aware of the problems which exist in broadcasting religious messages, particularly to those areas of the world where religions not largely represented in the United States are prevalent,

BE IT RESOLVED, that the National Association of Evangelicals express its commendation for forward steps now being taken by the U. S. Information Agency in the handling of religious information and urge upon our constituent churches and denominations and institutions that they lend all possible support to the Agency in the endeavor to depict in true perspective religious life in the United States.
