“Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me” (Psalm 23:4).
On behalf of the National Association of Evangelicals in the United States, we express our solidarity with you and mourn the senseless loss of lives in your country. We are shocked and saddened.
Churches all over the United States are praying for Paris. We pray for the families of those killed that they would know the comfort that comes from God. We pray for those injured that they would experience full recovery. We pray for the people of Paris and France that even as they seek answers and justice they would not be paralyzed by fear or embittered by anger and a desire for revenge.
We pray for our evangelical brothers and sisters that you will be anointed by God’s Spirit to be messengers of hope to the grieving, the confused, the frightened, and the despairing. We pray that your witness would point them to the God who is present and active in our world and who offers abundant life to those who accept his salvation and choose to follow him. We pray that you would be empowered to serve as peacemakers to those who desire peace but do not know where and how to find it.
With the prayers and love of your brothers and sisters in the USA,
National Association of Evangelicals
